Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome is the most common cause of secondary hypertension, however, an estimated 70-90% of cases go undetected.
Although patients with suspected sleep apnea are sent to fully equipped sleep labs, Meditech apneABP multiparameter monitor (ABPM + Pulse Oximeter+ Actigraph) can be used as an inexpensive and easily available screening tool which refers those patients to more complex, expensive and inconvenient sleep lab tests only, who really need them.
